Our most profound joy is often experienced during ordinary moments. What was one of your most joyful ordinary moments this year?

To me joyful ordinary moments can happen anytime and sometimes maybe multiple times a day, so its hard to define just one in year. You see for me it’s the simple things. Like being able to sleep in on a cold rainy day; or eating dry mein, a cheeseburger, and fries with ketchup, mustard, and mayo on the fries at Sam Sato’s.
It can be even simpler like telling someone good morning or opening a door for someone and having them smile. My 7th grade English teacher Mrs. Whitford used to have a sign in her classroom, “Catch’um being good”. She told us that if you do something positive for someone, even the simplest, smallest things like a “good morning” or “thank you”, you might brighten that person’s day and they in turn may do something positive for someone else. Soon you could even start a chain reaction, she would remind us. Till this day if a passing stranger gives me a smile when I say “good morning”, “thank you”, or just open a door I think of Mrs. Whitford and that great life lesson she thought.
So my joyful ordinary moments are pretty simple, but then again a majority of the time life is pretty simple, its just our nature to make it complicated at times.
